My dearest Jenny,
We have this minute received your letter, & as you seem anxious about Papa, I answer you at once, I am happy to tell you that dear Papa is much better, & that I think his arm will soon be quite well. – On Friday, Engels, Papa, Moore, Jollymier, Mrs Burns, Mary Ellen & I are going to Yorkshire to see a friend of Moore's & we're going to stay there from the Friday, to either sunday evening, & or Monday morning . – Won't it be jolly? –
This evening we're going to Belle Vue | to see the fire works. – Yesterday Mrs Burns & I went to see the Market, & Mrs Burns showed me the stall where Kelly sold pots, & the house where he lived. It was really very amusing, & Mrs B. has been telling me a great many amusing thing about „Kelly and Daisy“, whom Mrs. B. knew quite well, having been to their house and seen them 3 or 4 times a week. –
Papa is going home on Tuesday or Wednesday, at least I think so, but I believe he's going to leave me here a little longer. Papa's corn had been rather bad so he put a salve on last night which Mrs. B. made, and which both Engels and she declare will cure any corn. Next time I write I will give you the | receipt for Helen, but I can't today as I want to finish this letter as soon as possible, so that you get [it] tomorrow morning. I have finished the antimacasser I was making, and I've only to put on the fringe now. – Poor Lessner! I was so sorry to hear that the poor fellow is going to leave for Brazil. Will he talke Nelly with him or leave her with her grandmother? – Now dearest Jenny good-bye, for I think Papa wishes to add a few lines. I embrace you all, & send you my best love,
So, dear Jenny
Believe me to be
Your affectionate
Sister
I am glad you like "Willy Reilly". You must read "Rory
O'Moore(?)" too.
