• 10)  Das von Marx verfasste Programm wurde vom Generalrat auf der Sitzung vom 12. Juli 1870 bestätigt (s. Minutes of the General Council. Meeting July 12, 1870. In: MEGA I/21. S. 805–806) und erschien in englischer Sprache als Flugblatt unter dem Titel „The Fifth Annual Congress of the International Working Men’s Association“, sowie in einer Reihe von englischen, französischen und deutschen Zeitungen. Den französischen Text schickte Marx am 14. Juli an Jung (s. Marx an H. Jung, 14.7.1870).. Die deutsche Übersetzung erschien am 13. August 1870 im „Volksstaat“.

• 13) I enclose a written copy of the “Address to Abraham Lincoln” and  Die Glückwunschadresse anlässlich seiner Wiederwahl wurde Lincoln durch Adams, den amerikanischen Gesandten in London, weitergeleitet. Unmittelbar danach veröffentlichte als erste Tageszeitung die Londoner „Daily News“ die Adresse am 23. Dezember 1864.
  Am 28. Januar 1865 übermittelte Adams, in einem Brief an Cremer, im Namen von Lincoln die Antwort an den Central General Council. Sie wurde am 6. Februar 1865 u.a. in der „Times“ veröffentlicht. Siehe hierzu MEGA I/20. S.933–935.
