| Dear Sir,

Vermutlich hatte Marx an E. Truelove vor dem 15. Juni 1871 einen nicht überliefterten Brief geschrieben, aus dem hier zitiert wird.

You say “It appears that no paper except the Daily News has received a copy of our address in time for noting in this mornings publication”.
In reply I beg to say that I sent copies to them all on Tuesday afternoon and I said so publicly at the meeting of which you was Chairman and if you look carefully at yesterdays papers I think you will find notices in several. The front article in the Echo commented on the Address

It does not follow[,] because for | reasons best known to themselves they refuse to notice the Address[,] that they have not received it.— The Daily News of this morning has the Adt I have not had the opportunity to look at other papers, but the same Adr was taken by myself to the Times Pall Mall, Standard, Echo, Beehive Reynolds and Spectator — and for which I paid £1.10.0.– I should not be at all surprised if I found to day that some of them have refused to put the Adr in their papers. It is their policy to burke every thing like your address. They burked our “Robert Owen” centenary.

Yours faithy
E. Truelove

June 15/71.
