My dear Sir
I received Nicht
überlieferter Brief von Marx an E. S. Beesly,
geschrieben am 23. oder 24. Oktober 1870.
Schließen your note this
morning & therefore did not call on you. Vermutlich
Entwurf/Korrekturbogen von E. S. Beesly: The International Working Men's
Association. In: The Fortnightly Review. London. New series.
No. 47, 1. November 1870. S. 517–535. Abdruck in: MEGA² I/21. S.
1067–1086 (vgl. Marx
an E. Beesly, 16.9.1870). Siehe E.
S. Beesly an Marx, 21.10.1870 und E.
S. Beesly an Marx,
23.10.1870.
Schließen I am glad
you are satisfied with
the
article. One always has to
omit
materials one would like to
employ,
& I have as it is exceeded the usual limits of a Fortnightly article. | I made no reference to
the Census of
the International
because to
have done so without making some precise &
incontrovertible
statement as to the number of English members would have had, in my judgment, a
bad effect.
I have written to Morley to ask if | you may have a dozen slips.
He tells me that there is to be an Siehe Charles C. Chesney: England and the French Republic:
[a letter] to the Editor of the Fortnightly Review. In. The
Fortnightly Review. London, Vol. 14, November 1870. S.
581–588.
Schließen article by Colonel
Chesney
(the military critic of the Saturday I
believe) against the Jacobin phantom.
E S Beesly
