This is not the letter I said I would write, but a mere note to ask if a  «On annonce ce matin la mort...» In: L'Avenir libéral. Paris. Nr. 376, 5. September 1871.
Schließen statement in L’Avenir Liberal of the “death of Karl Marx, chief of the International” is true. I sincerely hope not: please write, if only a postcard, to say whether it is true or not: address

whither we go as soon as it gives over raining: we, because my brother George & S. Moore are here: Samuel has just arrived by the mail, wet & hungry, having had for breakfast a glass of milk & a bit | of bread & butter: however we’ll soon feed him up. We are going to stay at a jolly farm house near  Semerwater, Bainbridge (Yorkshire Dales).

The folk about here are quite Scandinavians: they say net(?) for a carcase and fealing for hiding a thing, felt(?) = hidden: while to labe = to seek: as in Danish fiele = to hide & lebe = to seek.

Moore is now feeding & hopes you’ll send any news you have about the Communists or International, as we shall have little but rocks & water to amuse or interest us in Raydole.
