| Dear Marx.
I read in Lloyd’s paper that Bastelica has been appointed director of the tax offices in Paris; in the “International“ of the 29 of march there is a proclamation of the Internationale of Paris in which the name of Aubry appears; elsewhere I have seen that some of our men from Lyons are also at Paris; I deplore the folly of our men who, in childish haste, rush off to Paris there too reap the benefits of a revolution before they have secured its success.
What good can they do in Paris? Would they not be much more useful in their respective towns | & would they not do much more towards the success of the revolution by doing their duty there? The movements in Lyons, Marseilles & other places miscarry because the chiefs seem to have deserted their proper centers of action.
Would that our Paris friends were wise enough to kick those fellows out instead of appointing them to offices.
It might be said that part of Rouen being still occupied by | the Prussians our friends there can do nothing! but surely the Prussians could not prevent our men from manifesting, in a peaceful way, their sympathies for their Parisian Brethren.
I am going to the East End & I expect another branch of the International will be formed to night.
Remember [me] kindly to all.
Fraternally yoursHn Jung.
2 April 1871.
