My dear Engels,

I received your very welcome  Nicht überlieferter Brief von Engels an A. Knowles, ca. 16.12.1870.
Schließen Note a week ago, and I have only just recd the patterns enclosed this evening.—I had some little difficulty in finding out the proper thing which you require

I however enclose you 2—qualities one @(?) 5¼ per yard and one @(?) 6, if you will return me these patterns and say which you would prefer, or perhaps a piece of each. I will get it for you

they are 70 to 80 yeards each piece.—

Do you know that Norman(?) | has been and gone and done it,—last Thursday week—he returned home yesterday and looks as if he had enjoyed himself—

I saw our friend Moore to-day on “Change” and I told him I should most probably send a piece or two with him—but instead of the pieces I only received the patter ns .—

I will write you more fully when I have heard from you again, and give you all the gossip.—
