Nov 27th 1871

My dear Dr. Marx.

I booked the parcel to you on Friday containing the “Civil War in France” and six copies of Eastern Post as requested, I should imagine you have received them. You ought to have received them on Friday—I have received the enclosed from Sorge with a bill of exchange for £ 12—for the refugees—he again asks for the statement as to the liability of the New York Federal Committee for prints &c. it is wanted at once—Will you therefore draw up an estimate for what you have sent and let me have itat the Council to-morrow night—Sorge says that he has received no report of the conference as yet. (Nov. 12th)

With respects
I remain
Yours fraternally
John Hales
