I am oblidged obliged by your sending the  Karl Marx: Mr. Washburne, The American Ambassador in Paris.—To the New York Central Committee for the United States' Sections of the International Working Men's Association. London 1871.
Schließen papers about Mr. Washbourne. Enclosed as a P. O. order for two pounds for the refugee committee, all my friends like myself are workingmen but I shall try to raise a little more, it is payable to you and I gave 15 Houndsgate as my address it is were where I lived with my father and where my sisters live now[,] please send | a receipt. I send you another scribble of mine out of the Express.

Soweit aus der Fotokopie zu ersehen ist, besteht der Brief aus einem Bogen blauem Papier. Smith hat die erste Seite vollständig, die dritte etwa zur Hälfte beschrieben; die übrigen zwei Seiten sind leer. Schreibmaterial: schwarze Tinte.

Archivsignatur des Moskauer Marx-Engels-Instituts (IMĖ) auf beiden beschriebenen Seiten mit Bleistift: „Rj 220a–b“.

Anmerkungen zum Brief

Die Beilage („I send you another scribble of mine...“) ist nicht überliefert.
