I hope Lafargue is not among the arrested in Paris.

I am going to be married to a sister of Crompton whom you met at dinner with me. I might have told you | then, but the engagement was not then many hours old. She is heartily sympathetic with my political & social views & there is no fear that I shall have to become respectable.
