Dear Marx,
Some time ago, I received a letter from Mr Beales, in the name of the Reform League, asking me still to remain a member.
I answered that letter.
Has that answer been read to the Council?
If not, will you kindly take steps that it be read.
Next: I received a long letter from Mr Beales, of a rather extraordinary kind, and attacking me rather severely. To that I have replied, enclosing the reply under cover to Mr Howell, requesting that letter to be read to the council.
I enclose you a copy of this | second letter.
May I ask you to let me know if the second letter is read to the Council, in its entirety,—and if not, may I ask you to secure its being read.
I hold this to be rather important for the sake of the movement, or else I would not trouble you.
Pray write.
Kindest regards.
Ever your'sErnest Jones.
