| Nov. 19.

Dear Williams!

I hope you will come next spring, as you promised.

Please, to forward the enclosed letter. They sent me an “address”. There, I think, the pamphlets may be sold.

Eccarius shall send a nice letter, pol. and social, in about 3 weeks, unless countermanded. It is for the proof-number, the day for the appearance of which is not yet fixed. You can tell him, for the beginning he will get 5 sh. a letter. That I warrant. Afterwards more. If E-s was to write a Review of the “Capital” it would serve two ends—the paper and the work. (He means you!)

The freaks of the Poeta laureatus have rather | astonished me. Did you not put a 0 too much? 6000 instead of 600? Indeed, how could he spend such a sum? If it is true, he must have tried his hands at the Bourse—like other modern poets. At all events send me his effusion about Kinkel’s American begging journey, I want to publish it, for the mutual satisfaction of both “schöne Seelen”. Don’t forget it.—

Is Mazzini for the Prussian Alliance? It half seem so to me.

As soon, as the book comes, I shall bring it myself to Contzen.

The Blindianum you mention, I had not heard of yet; I shall try to get it. Poor Struve, he lives in great want, I pity him; he is an harmless and honest fool; but this Rasch is the most abominable Humbug, that | ever was born. As to Blind, he is not dangerous; nobody knows him—not even in Baden.

Ask E-s, whether he could not take a few shares of our paper (they are of three classes 1) à 5 reichstaler 2) à 1 reichstaler 3) à ½ reichstaler). We have very little money, and in order to make the thing possible, we must now work either for nothing or for starvation wages. (I take 20 reichstaler à month as Ed. in chief) But our prospects are most excellent.—

If you can get Loch.s adress, send it.

My children are well, except a little cold. Alice sends her love to Tussy, whom she has not forgotten.

My love to all of you

Your old
Miller. |
