                            Hälfte quer beschrieben; die vierte Seite ist leer. Schreibmaterial:
                            schwarze Tinte.</p>
                  <p>In der Mitte des Bogens Rostflecken von Papierklammern, ohne
                            Textverlust.</p>
                  <p>Von unbekannter Hand: Nummerierung des Briefes mit Bleistift: „588“.</p>

                    journey arrived here safe and sound. I say a <hi rendition="#u">pleasant</hi>
                    journey, though I dont think Mama thought so. The sea was very rough, the waves
                    dashing over the ship &amp; wetting <pb/> everybody.—All the passengers with the
                    exception of one lady, myself, &amp; several gentlemen, were sea-sick. This lady
                    and I climbed up just by the side of the Captain’s deck, &amp; there we sat
                    down. It was great fun. This morning I turned out before six o’clock in the
                    morning &amp; walked about till nine. I intend to go to the sands now &amp; take
