citizens: There will be an impression that they may be communists and you will
be quite aware of the opinion here”.</p>
<p rend="MBTextMitEinzug">You will see by this, my excellent friend that nothing but
a sense of duty of extreme urgency makes me apply to such sources. </p>
<p rend="MBTextMitEinzug">If you will give me in detail some 3 or 5 cases I can add
others and whatever funds I may obtain may then be given, under your advice and
indication, to the least prominent of the refugees &amp; thus, these being taken

<p rend="MBTextMitEinzug">I think you could easily enlist the <pb/> sympathies
of your young Ladies in this matter and after a two minutes detail, they would
be able to draw up a list of some 5 or 6 of the most distressed names,
occupations, number of children &amp;c. &amp;c. I give an imaginary example on
                    the last page.</p>
<p rend="MBTextMitEinzug">I quite agree with your view of placing, as far, and as
soon as possible, the refugees; it is a double gain—a gain alike to those who
are placed &amp; to those who remain. </p>
<p rend="MBTextMitEinzug">I will do, and am doing all I can, which is very little,
but hope ere the month ends to make up my contributions<supplied cert="high">,</supplied> Twenty Pounds, the whole with one exception,—which I will name

                    be asked.</p>
<p rend="MBTextMitEinzug">And now I wish to enter for one moment upon the Social
question. Everyone asks: “If you do not mean equal division which would be
unequal division tomorrow, what do you mean by your community—solidarity? I see
many evils in our present condition but I must have a programme, must <pb/>
know whether I am going”. Nothing seems fairer, more just more obvious; but the
                    reply must not be given. I will give you my reason, the experience &amp;
observation of a long Life, when I see you, but cannot delay the suggestion.</p>
<p rend="MBTextMitEinzug">Many thanks for the <bibl type="periodika" corresp="">Examiner</bibl> which I do not see here and many apologies
