                        M<hi rendition="#sup">r</hi> <persName ref="https://megadigital.bbaw.de/M0003852">Mottershead</persName>
                    will not stand for Secretary, as he is already engaged in that capacity by the
                    Labour
                    Representation League.</p>
                <p rend="MBTextMitEinzug" style="text-align: justify; ">He says M<hi rendition="#sup">r</hi>. <persName ref="https://megadigital.bbaw.de/M0006462 http://d-nb.info/gnd/122016599">Eccarius</persName> is the
                    man; and M<hi rendition="#sup">r</hi> M’s friends will support M<hi rendition="#sup">r</hi> <expan resp="editor" sameAs="dottet_underline">E</expan>.</p>
                <p rend="MBTextMitEinzug" style="text-align: justify; ">I am desired by them to
                    ascertain if you are prepared to support his <pb/> candidature, and if you think
                    it will also receive the assent of D<hi rendition="#sup">r</hi> Marx and the foreign members generally.</p>
                <p rend="MBTextMitEinzug" style="text-align: justify; ">If this proposal will not,
                    in your pinion, obtain acceptance, can you make any suggestion on the
                    subject?</p>
                <p rend="MBTextMitEinzug" style="text-align: justify; ">I am anxious to impress
                    strongly upon you the absolute necessity of <hi rendition="#u">uniting upon one
                        man</hi>, whoever he may be, as otherwise, things may relapse into their old
                    condition. </p>
                <p rend="MBTextMitEinzug" style="text-align: justify; "><pb/> If you will write to
                    me by-return of post I will communicate with the other parties, and arrange the
                    programme.</p>
