Soweit aus der Fotokopie zu ersehen ist, besteht der Brief aus einem Bogen weißem Papier. Die erste Seite ist vollständig beschrieben, die zweite zu zwei Dritteln, die dritte und vierte Seite sind leer. Schreibmaterial: schwarze Tinte.

Es handelt sich um eine Abschrift von unbekannter Hand, die Marx seinem Brief an Engels vom 8. August 1870 beilegte.
