Der Brief besteht aus einem Bogen mittelstarkem, weißem Papier im Format 289 × 139 mm. Die ersten zwei Seiten hat Liebknecht vollständig beschrieben, die dritte zur Hälfte, die vierte Seite ist leer. Schreibmaterial: schwarze Tinte.

I enclose a letter of A. Bebel Siehe August Bebel an den Generalrat der IAA, 23.7.1868., President of the German Arbeitervereine, containing in an invitation for the next Working mens’ Conference at Nürnberg. It ist necessary that the I. W. A. is represented there either by you or by Eccarius Siehe auch W. Liebknecht an Marx, 17.7.1868 und Erl.; but if ever possible, by you, because no one else has the same authority. Explain to the Council of the I. W. A. of how great importance the affair is, that the question is, whether about hundred German Working mens’ societies will at once enter the Association, and that a complete success is quite certain, if the Association send a Deputy.Siehe Marx’ Auftreten auf der Generalratssitzung am 28.
